Framed Print of The Unfinished Church in St. George's
The Unfinished Church in St. George's, Bermuda came about as a result of differences of congregation opinion, money troubles and a strong hurricane The Unfinished Church in the town of St. George's in Bermuda was intended to be a replacement for St. Peter's Church in St. George's, which had been damaged by a severe storm. Construction started in 1874 but due to a difference of opinion in the congregation, money that was intended to be used was funneled to other projects and after the roof was installed, the Anglican church sat unfinished for years until it was badly damaged by a devastating hurricane that left the site in ruins. It remains as an attraction on the island but is currently closed to the public and has been used in the past as a wedding venue. © Daniel Cassidy
