Teamwork, rope challenge, sporting event at Southport, Merseyside, UK 24th September, 2017. Basque Country team at the European Outdoor Tug of War Championships and 2017 World Junior and Under 23 Championships held at Carr Lane, Southport. The European Championships include four weight classes for mens tug of war teams and two weight classes for ladies tug of war teams, and include a mixed weight class with the teams competing consisting of four men and four women. Teams have a maximum weight limit of 600 kilos in these events. Credit; MediaWorldImages/AlamyLiveNews The 2017 European Tug of War Championships and World Junior and Under 23 Championships will see contestants will spend four days battling it out at international club level on the Thursday and Friday competitions and at international level on the Saturday and Sunday competitions. The tournament will be open to both men's teams and women's teams, who will be competing for gold, silver and bronze medals in different weight categories. The event will also stage the World Junior and Under 23 Tug of War Championships, where again, there will be weight classes for men's teams and women's teams. The highlight of outdoor tug of war is the clash of sheer power between the two teams. Athletes seek an optimal foothold in the ground by digging in their heels and, using that as their pivot, seek to apply force to the opposing team using a combination of pulling the rope with the upper body, and pushing their legs into the ground to try and move the opposition. The event, which is expected to draw around 1, 500 – 2, 000 participants from at least 20 countries alone, could provide a boost to tourism and the local economy. © MediaWorldImages

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
