The Village of Tomich is part of the Guisachan Estate and was created along with Guisachan farm to serve Guisachan House, which is now derelict and lies a further 1.5 miles to the west of the village and was the home of Lord and Lady Tweedmouth. The golden retriever was first bred in Tomich by Dudley Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth.
